Jonathan Majors trial commences with bombshells from the prosecution and the key witness, Grace Jabbari!
We discuss all the details of the case, recapping Days 5 – 8 of this trial, jury selection and more with unique insight from Danielle Atherton aka Dani Does Law, former Legal Analyst has attended court every day since the trial commenced! Also includes insight from Katt, who has been receiving updates from Jimmy, whom was able to attend court in Danielle’s absence for Day 6! Live on stream!
The rest of this report would not have occurred if not for the result of this tweet from legal journalist Meghann Cunniff, who gained newfound fame after her coverage of the Meg v. Tory trial!
Admirations aside, this tweet is why its necessary to either do everything to always research via many 3rd party sources before reaching a conclusion! asking questions is not “bashing”, not telling the public a “super crucial testimony” is going against the fundamental ideals of journalism, transparency! Since we want more and more transparency from the government, it is just as crucial to request transparency from the media, even if it means going against their own narrative, ethos, or ad revenue. We know how much these sensationalized clicks will bring when you’ve omitted a crucial testimony of Grace Jabbari admitting Jonathan Majors never was physically abusive to her. The report of this can be found on LEGALBYTES DAILY RECAP!
The following report will only provide key excerpts that contextualize the text messages and what happened in the Escalade according to Dani, who was in court on Friday, December 8th, 2023, and insight from Katt, who was receiving information from Jimmy, attending court on Thursday, December 7th, 2023. This information was received as the stream went over the previous info shared on the previous stream with Dani but from a more analytical view.
At 40:40+, as Heinz expresses his perplexities regarding the reporting of the text messages being framed as if Majors wanted her to avoid the hospital because he was physically abusing her, Dani chimes in to provide a bit more context as she saw it live in court. Dani admits that, in isolation, the text messages do look like Jonathan Majors had clubbed her in the head. She says there was no context given to the court as the rest of the messages were redacted for the jury (outlets never reported on this redaction). Dani makes it clear that the outlets did not say this was abuse; it was just put out there to suggest. Dani also emphasizes that under oath, Grace testified that Jonathan Majors had never physically abused her before March 24th, 2023, to which Katt (who has been following this case only via what has been reported by court reporters on Twitter) responds.
At 1:09:00+, to further add to the released text messages, Dani contextualizes that in the line of questioning before the texts were introduced to Grace, they were going through the recording of “suicide threats” by Jonathan Majors and how Grace Jabbari would often frame these as her having to “talk him down the ledge in their arguments.” Jonathan would, according to Grace, respond by saying he is fine and he would speak with his therapist. To this end, Katt inquired if the jury had heard that these texts came from the pub incident where Jonathan Majors was expressing the need to maintain a good reputation for his image and how he needed someone of the image of MLK’s wife, Coretta Scott, and Barack Obama’s wife, Michelle Obama. Dani expressed profusely that she did not hear that once relayed to the jury by the prosecution on the redirect examination of Grace Jabbari. However, outlets have been reporting that according to the texts, it is from the september 2022 london incident.
At 2:13:00+, the doctor from Bellevue Hospital, where Grace Jabbari was taken to, has now become a key and central witness in this case. Should Grace have been suicidal due to the possibility of the relationship ending, in addition to messaging her friend Holly 10-13 minutes before the police found her in the closet (even though she testified she was in the bathroom), that is important to note. If he testifies to the events of that day, it could swing this case either way for the defense or prosecution, as the events of the CCTV hours earlier before police arriving could contextualize whether Majors had assaulted Grace Jabbari. To contextualize the importance of this testimony, the following series of questions from Priya to Grace regarding her state when found by the cops are provided. Please note, Jabbari was described to be apprehensive while watching the bodycam footage. This exchange between Priya and Grace is paraphrased by Jimmy, but it must be stressed that he did his best to write these out, word for word. The exchange is as follows:
Priya: ‘Did you tell your friend while you were in the hospital that you think you may have fainted and don’t know what you did?’ Grace Jabbari: ‘Yes.’
Then Priya cuts back to the bodycam footage showing the police interview with Grace saying, ‘Why does everything hurt?’ Grace in the video is described to still be laying on the ground, and she says, ‘I’m so confused. What happened? Why are you here? What did he do?’
Priya proceeds to ask Grace, ‘So you were the first one that brought up Jonathan did something?’ Grace Jabbari: ‘Yes.’ Grace goes on to protest, saying, ‘I don’t want to watch the video again.’
Priya returns to the bodycam where Jabbari can be seen asking the police officers, ‘Did he hurt me?’ After this was played, Priya turns to Grace Jabbari and says, ‘You asked, did he hurt me?’ Grace: ‘Yes.’ Priya: ‘”What happened to my ear?” Is that what you asked them?’ Grace: ‘Yes.’ Priya: ‘I was just trying to sleep. Did you ask the cops that?’ Grace: ‘Yes.’ Priya: ‘Why are you here to the cops? Did you tell them that you don’t know how you got your finger hurt?’ Grace: ‘I don’t recall.’
Priya goes on to play the clip from the bodycam footage, to which Grace says, ‘That’s what I said.’
These details are key, as this justification for MSM keeping out foundational and fundamental details and finger-pointing at those inquiring about the details left out has got to stop!
